Sorbaria Magical Cherry on Top
NEW! This low-growing Sorbaria is a very distinctive plant, mainly because of its seed pods. Both the bud and the flower are white. As the “cherry on the cake,” the seed pods turn a deep cherry red. This is very unusual for a Sorbaria: other cultivars often have brown or dry seed pods. The seed pods attract birds in winter. The fine, fern-like foliage of this full shrub changes colour with the seasons. In spring the young shoots are pink-red, then turn green-yellow with bronze tips. Later in summer the leaves become fresh green; in winter Sorbaria loses its leaves. This shrub is propagated by cuttings, grows compactly and branches well.
